Parent/Student Handbook
- High School
Dear Parents and Students:
It is a pleasure to welcome you to Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School. We hope that you enjoyed your summer vacation and that now, as September approaches, you are ready for a challenging, productive and enjoyable school year. The administration, faculty and staff are looking forward to greeting you on the first day - Tuesday September 4th - and wish you success in the coming 2012-2013 school year.
The relationship between the staff, myself, and you and your child is very important. My hope is that you will find us approachable and easy to speak to, and that you won't hesitate to contact us if you ever have questions, concerns, or you just want to share good news about our school or your child. We always welcome and greatly appreciate feedback, as we cannot fix it if we don't know about it!
To our students, I ask that you reflect on your goals and strive not only to pursue personal excellence but also to demonstrate your perseverance and integrity. Know that we are here to support and encourage you as you explore different possibilities and grow as learners. Remember that with these opportunities, comes both a personal and collective responsibility to be supportive of one another. I will count on you to go beyond tolerance and treat all members of our community with respect. I challenge each of you to contribute as we maintain and improve the long tradition of Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau excellence in both curricular and co-curricular activities.
To our parents, it is through your support that we make a significant difference in the lives of our students. As we strive to take Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School beyond its state standing as an exemplary high school to one of national and global recognition, our partnership becomes that much more critical. The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau community has dedicated itself completely to the education of its students and has placed great trust in our schools. I understand the importance of this trust and vow to work for the best interests of our students and community. Our challenge is to embrace the future of the 21st century and assure that our students are properly prepared to become leaders in this exciting new world.
This handbook is printed to provide you with information on school rules and regulations and to inform you of your responsibilities. It is important that all students and parents/guardians read, understand, and abide by the information in this handbook. We hope and expect all students to look for opportunities for new learning and to provide positive leadership. Regular attendance plays an integral part to school success, so please make every effort to be solid in your daily attendance.
It is a privilege to lead the learning community of Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School during this time of incredible change and tremendous possibilities. The foundation of our future accomplishments will be found in the power of our combined efforts and the strength of our synergy. We wish you the best of luck this year as we work together to ensure that every child reaches his/her fullest potential - Every Student Every Day! The teachers, counselors, paraprofessionals, support staff, secretaries, and of course, your principal, stand ready to assist and guide each of you. Please let us know if we can be of any assistance throughout the year.
Sincerely,
Troy White, Principal
